Welcome to Clì

Aims

  • To promote the learning and national status of Gaelic
  • To disseminate information on Gaelic and Gaelic affairs
  • To act as the voice of Gaelic learners and non-native speakers

...learning, information and voice - these are the aims of Clì Gaelic, the Scots Gaelic access and promotion organisation.Gaelic speaker or not; Gaelic learner or Gaelic supporter; native of Scotland or no connection - whatever it is you are welcome in Clì Gàidhlig!

Cothrom and the Clì Website cli.org.uk are enjoyable ways in which to promote learning, information and campaigning – Clì Gàidhlig's three fundamental aims. But these are not the only means to these ends.

Learning and National Status of Gaelic

Clì Gàidhlig involves itself in non-party-political campaigns which promote the learning and national status of Gaelic. Clì Gàidhlig works with community education, colleges, publishers, broadcasters and others to promote improved facilities. We produce cassettes & CDs of the Gaelic in Cothrom, and run the Clì Day-Courses for learners around Scotland and 3-day Grammar Courses for fluent speakers.

Information on Gaelic and Gaelic Affairs

Information is available free from Clì Gàidhlig, through the websites Learn-Gaelic.info and www.cli.org.uk, or by contacting the Clì Gàidhlig office.

If you run a Gaelic course or a club, or hold an event, please send us your details so that we can add them to this site.

Voice of Non-native Speakers

Clì Gàidhlig represents Gaelic learners and non-native speakers at various meetings and through lobbying campaigns. Clì Gàidhlig is directed by a voluntary Board which is elected by the full members.

Clì Gàidhlig is a membership organisation, open to all who share its aims - why not find out about membership or Join now!

Tional

Following the great success of Tional in 2007, Tional 2008 will take place on April 5th 2008 at the new Gaelic School in Inverness. Please look out or ask for more details.

Ùlpan
